The Revitalization Council
Duties and Responsibilities
The Revitalization Council is the directing body that contributes and actively participates in the implementation of the Front Porch Florida Initiative in their community. Their concerted efforts to implement the Neighborhood Action Plan will result in long-term changes in the community. These changes will improve schools, reduce crime, increase economic opportunities, provide adequate infrastructure and affordable housing opportunities, and create an environment that fosters strong families and vital communities.
The Revitalization Council is a volunteer group. Those who perform these duties are not paid for their efforts. Those interested in serving their community must be willing to do the following:
- Volunteer their time to perform their duties assigned to them.
- Support the community's goals
- Be a good public steward of taxpayer dollars
- Be willing to work with others in a positive and professional manner
- Actively participate in sweat equity projects and motivate others to do the same
- Keep their stakeholders informed of opportunities
- Demonstrate and promote a high level of ethics
- Be willing to learn and celebrate this opportunity to make critical changes
All positions on the council are important; however the Council Chair is the most critical one of all. In order to ensure accountability, this position must be willing to take responsibility for guiding the activities of the Council.
