Disaster Recovery
2008 Hurricane Disaster Recovery
- Community Development Block Grant disaster relief funding was made available to Florida by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, under Title IV of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5121 et. seq.) (Federal Register - Docket No. F.R.-5256-N-01, Volume 74, Number 29 and Federal Register - Docket No. F.R.-5256-N-01, Volume 74, Number 156) for federally declared natural disasters that occurred during 2008.
- Florida received $81,063,855 for affected communities
- Congress allocated the funding to assist in recovery from federally declared natural disasters that occurred during 2008 (Tropical Storm Fay, Hurricanes Gustav and Ike)
- Congress directed that the funds go "to areas facing the greatest need"

Technical Assistance Conference Calls
In an effort to provide technical assistance to our partners, the Department is holding three conference calls for local governments participating in the 2008 Storms Disaster Recovery Program on the following dates:
- November 17, 10:00 a.m.
- December 1, 10:00 a.m.
- December 15, 10:00 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to send issues to be discussed to glenn.hodges@dca.state.fl.us and jackie.dupree@dca.state.fl.us in advance of the biweekly calls.

2005 Hurricane Disaster Recovery
- Community Development Block Grant disaster relief funding was made available to Florida by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, pursuant to the Military Construction Appropriations and Emergency Hurricane Supplemental Appropriations Act (Federal Register - Docket No. F.R.-5051-N-01, Volume 71, Number 29)
- Florida received $82,904,000 for affected communities
- Congress allocated the funding to assist in recovery from federally declared disasters that occurred between July 10, 2005 and October 24, 2005
- Congress directed that the funds go "to areas facing the greatest need"

- Community Development Block Grant disaster relief funding was made available to the state by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, pursuant to the Military Construction Appropriations and Emergency Hurricane Supplemental Appropriations Act (Federal Register - Docket No. FR-4959-N-01, Volume 69, Number 237)
- Florida received $100,915,626 for affected communities
- Congress allocated the funding to assist in recovery from federally declared disasters that occurred between August 31, 2003 and October 1, 2004
- Funds are for disaster relief, long-term recovery and mitigation
- Congress has directed that the funds go “to areas facing the greatest need”
